Proper site design is important for many reasons. It encourages people who access a site to stay and browse and it ensures that sites are organized and easy to navigate. Such sites are also favored by search engines like Google and Yahoo since their automated gathering processes also find it easy to catalog key words for
online content searches.

In 1998 in the Federal arena, Section 508 was enacted. Its purpose is to:

  Eliminate barriers in information technology
  Make available new opportunities for people      with disabilities
  Encourage development of technologies that
     will help achieve these goals

While this Section 508 only applies to Federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology, Micro Jenisys applies the 16 technical standards outlined in Section 508 related to Web-based intranet and internet information and applications to all of the sites we create. This ensures the sites are accessible while improving the user experience for all everyone.
